Why Choose The Firs Veterinary Surgery?

We aren’t the only vets in Cheshire – so why choose us?

We understand that choosing a vet can be hard – your pet is a part of your family and you want the very best for them. As Vets, Nurses and Veterinary Support Staff we all love pets and want to provide them with excellent health care. So, when all vets are promising the same, how do you pick the right vet for you?

At The Firs Veterinary Surgery, we believe it’s the little things that really can make a big difference. We aim to make every pet’s experience with us, a pleasant one for all involved, and it’s with this in mind that we have adopted our four key principles; Community, Expertise, Experience and Communication.

The Willows Veterinary Group - The Firs (Web) 016

Based in the heart of Kelsall village, we believe that being part of the community makes us the best choice for your pet. From the moment you step through the door, our aim is to make you and your pet feel welcome. We want you to always feel welcome to pop in and say hello, whether it be one of our open days, or just on your way past, to the post box. Our team are committed to providing support within the community, in any way we can – including dog shows, school talks and raising money for local charities.

We understand that you want to take your pet to a friendly and caring vet, your pet is part of your family. Our team work tirelessly to make sure our practice ticks all of your boxes.

We also understand how important it is to back up our excellent service with expertise. Our vets and nurses have a wealth of knowledge and experience between them, and regularly attend further training and development days to keep up to date with the latest advances and techniques.

At the Firs we believe that experience is crucial. Firstly, our team’s collective professional experience means that we can offer you and your pet the best possible service and care. However, we also believe there is another form of ‘experience’ which makes us the best vet for your pet, and that’s the experience of being pet owners ourselves. Our team are all passionate pet owners, so we understand and have experienced the worry and stress that comes when your pet becomes sick or injured.

We believe that good communication underpins every aspect of veterinary care. From chatting to you in the waiting room, to giving important healthcare advice, we believe that you deserve our time. At The Firs in Kelsall, our aim is to create a positive communication culture, and we hope that as valued clients you feel happy to talk to us about any worries or concerns, no matter how big or small.

School/Nursery Visits

Our school and nursery visits are fun-filled sessions which are great for getting children interested in all things pet related. We tailor our visits to your requirements, and arrange interactive activities, which are fun for all involved.

Teachers will find that they are able to do plenty of follow up activities, and creative play following a visit from a vet.

Careers Fairs

A career in the veterinary industry can be an extremely rewarding, but demanding role. Our presence at school/college careers fairs can be a great way to educate those interested in veterinary care, all about the highs and the lows.

We can talk to students about the various job roles at a veterinary practice, from Kennel Nurse right through to Vet, the work entailed, likely pay, qualifications and training needed.
